This pop up course will provide the knowledge and skills you need to prevent pressure ulcers. The course is delivered by experienced members of the Clinical Skills Team based at Torbay Hospital.
Who is this course suitable for?
This session is designed for health and care professionals working for care providers in the community- i.e. domiciliary care, supported living and residential care homes.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to:
- SSKIN Assessment
- Personal Hygiene Care
- The types of pressure ulcers and moisture lesions and who to refer them to
- How to look after diabetic feet (which includes how to do the Touch Toes Test for loss of sensation for diabetic feet).

Louise Heafield
Clinical Skills Lead
Louise is a Clinical Skills Facilitator in the Education department of Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. She has a Nursing degree (BN) and has been a registered nurse since 1993, with the NMC. Louise has the AET teaching qualification and other certificates to validate experience.
Dianne Flores
Clinical Skills Facilitator
Dianne is a Clinical Skills Facilitator in the Education department of Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and has been a registered nurse with the NMC since 2019. She has spent many years as a neonatal nurse and the last 2 years in the Emergency Department.
The enthusiasm of the trainer made it even more interesting.
